Many thanks for your letter of 18th July and I am so pleased to be advised of the activities you will be engaged in in the interest of Hong Kong.
It was a pleasure to learn of your planned visit to Hong Kong in the not too distant future and I was hoping that should there be a possibility of your trip being timed earlier than the end of September or a little later you could allow me one evening to offer you the courtesy of a dinner. As my present commitments stand, I will have an obligation to be in London at the end of September.
