Dear Mi Blaken,

I am writing to thank you very much for having spared the time in your busy programme to lunch with the Chamber and our guests yesterday, and more particularly for having given us such a comprehensive and stimulating address after lunch.

I am sure that all those present were most encouraged by what you said about Her Majesty's Govern- ment's policies in general and, in particular, the policies relating to Hong Kong. On a more personal note I was delighted to hear the announcement of the Governor's extension until April 1982, and I am sure the continuity at this important time will be welcomed throughout the community.

I hope we will have the opportunity of seeing you again in Hong Kong before too long, although one realises what a busy schedule you have to keep.

In any event perhaps I might call on you in London on one of my visits if you could spare me a half hour.

with hind

regards,

Yours mincerely
