(a) Parents:
(i)
(ii)
(iii)
(A) they would otherwise be the only member of the
family not in the Colony; or
(B) they are entirely dependent. upon their parent or
parents in the Colony; or
(c)
they are physically incapacitated in any way.
An application for both parents together to join a son or daughter in the Colony will normally be approved provided that one of the parents is over the age of 50 and the son or daughter is a bona fide resident able to support and provide accommodation for both parents;
an application from one only of the parents to join a son or daughter in the Colony will normally be approved provided that the parent applying to come to Hong Kong is over the age of 50 and the son or daughter is a hona fide resident able to support and provide accommodation for that parent;
a similar application in respect of both parents under 50 years of age will not normally be approved in the absence of strong compassionate or humanitarian reasons.
(e) Widows and widowers :
An application for widows (including in this context a divorced woman) of any age or widowers over 50 years of age to join their nearest or only surviving relatives in the Colony will normally be approved provided that their relatives are :
(i) bona fide residents; and
(11) able to support them and provide accommodation. .
(f) Relatives other than wives, husbands, children or parents :
Except as provided in paragraph (e) above, permission for other relatives to enter the Colony will not normally be approved in the absence of adequate proof of a long period of previous residence in the Colony, or other strong compassionate or humanitarian
reasons.
(g) Others:
Permission to enter the Colony may also be granted to other persons, whether or not they have relatives in the Colony, provided that :
(i) they possess a special skill, knowledge or experience
of value to and not readily available in the Colony; or (ii) they are in a position to make a substantial contribution
to the economy of the Colony.
