Brief for HE's Visit to China

VI. SUPPLY OF WATER FROM CHINA

A new Agreement between the Hong Kong Govern-

ment and the Revolutionary Committee of Guangdong

Province for the supply of water to Hong Kong from the

East River was signed in late November 1978.

Under this

new Agreement the following quantities of water will be

supplied during the relevant supply periods

Transitional period to accommodate change in shut- down period from maintenance from August and

September to March and April.

The price of water from the East River was increased

this year to JMP 0.15 Yuan per cubic metre from its

previous level of JMP 0.10 Yuan per cubic metre.

Additional water supply from East River, Stage II -- to receive the quantities of water indicated above.
