Committee. The school has been accepted for public aid in the Caput Grant Scheme, but has been found to be
covertly communist controlled. The matter was dealt with at Governor's Security Committee 16th February 1978, when it was decided that the school be allowed to proceed.

One of the largest communist controlled schools is the Pui Kiu Middle School (enrolment 1,905). It is attempting to find a new site for its main premises and has sought ED assistance. It has been informed that no special assistance can be given, but that it may tender for sites if and when available. This matter also has been dealt with by GSC on 3rd September 1978.
