and a children's amusement park will be built in the area. In

addition, there will be an orchard with lai chee, mandarin, oranges,

tangerine, etc. Tourists will be allowed to set foot in the orchard

to enjoy the scenery as well as the fruits. There will also be a

botanical and zoological park near the orchard. Apart from these,

a fishing site will also be set up for visitors.

A spring will turn into a convalescent ground

(2) Sixty kilometres away from Shum Chun lies the Kung Ming Commune's

Yu Lu Hot Spring, which will be turned into a convalescent area with

quest house and swimming pool. The temperature of the hot spring is

about 60 degree celsius and has a daily water flow of 150 tons.

At Mui Sar, a/beach will be set up similar to the one at Clear Water Bay in Hong Kong. There will be guest houses and a park named

Mui Sar Public Park.

Apart from these three important projects, a 120-room hotel will

will be built near the Chun Yuen Restaurant which is famous for its dog

meat and oyster dishes.

Shum Chun is ready to promote tourism, hoping to attract some

5,000 to 10,000 tourists each day in future.

Simplified immigration procedures under consideration

Mr. Lee Ting also said that some Hong Kong residents have made

a few suggestions to the Shum Chun Authority on the tourist industry. At present their suggestions are being considered. The suggestions include:

setting up a "Huang Kiang tourist spot" at Huang Kiang which is
