SUMMARY
(a) Demand in Hong Kong
The Hongkong Electric Co. Ltd. (IEC) and the China Light and Power Co. Ltd. (CLP) have prepared forecasts of maximum demand and installation programmes covering the period from 1979 to 1992. The forecasts are summarised at Annex Á. Maximum demand in 1979 is expected to be 1755 mw (CLP) and 723 mw

The forecast maximum demand figures exclude the 50 mw supplies to China which CLP plan to commence at the end of March ((b)(i) below). Installation plans are basically aimed at meating the forecast maximum demand, and while the 50 mw supplies can be absorbed no further supplies to China would be possible at peak hours. There is, however, plenty of capacity available for supplies in non-peak hours i.e. midnight to 6 a.m. If the
two systems are interconnected in 1981/82 it should be possible for
