It was apparent that China Resources Com- pany, China Merchants Steam Navigation Company and Chu Kong Shipping Company were working in opposition to each other and had no firm plans as to their expected future requirements. These companies are now represented by the same solicitor, Miss Liu Yiu Chu of Liu, Chan & Lam, and are preparing answers to a questionnaire by the Director of Marine to clarify exactly what their expected future needs will be to ensure that Government provides adequate public cargo handling facilities to cope with any further expansion of the trade.
