From a detailed analysis of all the applications received in the context of an assessment of the potential demand for industrial land at lower plot ratio for the development of more sophisticated industry, it is considered that the prime requirement is to form land as fast as possible. The immediate availability of serviced land is an essential element of industrial investment promotion and will in itself be an attraction to potential investors. It was therefore decided that a second industrial estate at Yuen Long should be established. It is estimated that the Yuen Long Industrial Estate could make available a net total of some 40 acres of industrial land.
