CHINA: SECRETARY OF STATE'S INTERVIEW FOR "TODAY"

I attach a copy of the transcript.
You kindly undertook to consider a few days before
1 October whether anything had happened in the meanwhile
to justify suggesting to the BBC that any particular
passage should be omitted.

I shall be in New York. Please give
your advice to Mr Baxter of News Department.
