RELATIONS WITH CHINA
1.
I attach a draft answer, supplementaries and background note for a P.Q. put down by Mr Robert Adley for 13 June. Parliamentary Unit tell us that it is likely to be reached. They are aware that the material on defence sales to China may have to be changed depending on the outcome of the Ministerial discussion on 11 June. They nevertheless need to have the material by noon tomorrow 6 June to give new Ministers adequate time to consider it. Parliamentary Unit advise that there is little point in asking Mr Adley to defer his question.
