However, some may, in desperation, try to enter Hong Kong, as countries outside Asia are too distant for a heavily overladen refugee ship. A possible alternative for large ships is to load small boats and transport them to waters near Hong Kong or else to tranship refugees to junks in the area of the Ladrones Islands from where they will then be brought to Hong Kong.
