Proposed Seminar on the Future of the Dependent Territories, 24-26 September 1979
I am writing to confirm our brief conversation today when I telephoned you on behalf of Maggie Clyne with reference to the above seminar.
Firstly, I regret that the Institute is unable to waive the charges for conference facilities as suggested in your letter of 23rd March. We are nonetheless keen to respond to your suggestion that the seminar be considered a joint IDS/FCO activity.
Secondly, two names have been suggested as potential University of Sussex participants; Dr. Robert Benewick and Dr. Donald Wood.
Maggie Clyne will be returning to the Institute later this week, and meanwhile we look forward to receiving further details from you.
