1. Mr Ridley has seen your minute of 17 July along with Mr Stratton's subsequent minute of the same date.
2. Mr Ridley would be happy to participate in the Seminar himself subject to his being free at the time(it is just possible that he may have to go to New York for meetings in the margins of the UN General Assembly that week).
3. The Minister would be quite content for Mr Ted Rowlands to be invited, but he has enormous doubts, as shared by Mr Stratton, about inviting Sir Bernard Braine.
4. Mr Ridley's other major doubts are that the Seminar, as planned at present, is over-stocked with academics. He feels that we could usefully include some Treasury "hatchet men", and perhaps even some private enterprisers.
5.
I should be grateful if further consideration could be given to the "guest" list in the light of the Minister's views.
