SEMINAR ON THE FUTURE OF BRITAIN'S REMAINING DEPENDENT TERRITORIES

I attach a copy of the outline programme for the Seminar, and a list of those who have accepted to date. I will let you have a full list of participants, when it is complete.

The main conference paper, which will summarise our present policy, constitutional status and some of the special problems in our dependencies, is being prepared by the FCO. It will include some basic information about the territories and will form the basis for discussion at the first session.

For each of the remaining three sessions, we propose to ask a participant to introduce the subject with a stimulating dis- course lasting perhaps 10 minutes, with or without a supporting paper. There would then be open discussions. If you have made a special study in any of the three subjects and would like to introduce that session, please let me know.

Further details will be circulated when available, but if in the meantime you have any queries or points to discuss, I shall be happy to hear from you.
