(a) if the grounds admitted amount to misconduct,

dispense with such investigation, unless the officer requests that the investigation be

made, and inflict such punishment upon the officer in respect of the misconduct admitted, other than dismissal or compulsory retirement,

as may seem to him to be just; or

(b)

if the grounds admitted do not amount to

misconduct, cause the investigation to be

made into the officer's conduct.

(5) Where the Governor dispenses with an investigation in the circumstances set out in paragraph (4), no investigation shall be made in respect of the grounds

that the officer has not admitted and he shall not be

liable to be punished in respect of those grounds."

Amendment of Colonial

Regulation

57.

3. Colonial Regulation 57 in Appendix II to Colonial Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (2)

the following

"(3) If the officer admits in whole the

misconduct in respect of which it is proposed to cause the investigation to be made, the Governor may dispense with such investigation, unless the officer requests that the investigation be made,* and may

inflict such punishment upon the officer as may seem
