The disciplinary penalties available to perscos exercising disciplinary powers are as follows:

Where the nature of an officer's offence makes it inappropriate for his department to continue to employ him in the same office he may, if in a mobile grade, be required to move (at public expense) to a new location;, or if in a non-mobile grade, be required to move to another location within reasonable travelling distance of his home. A non- mobile officer may be offered a transfer to another locality (at public expense) as an alternative to dismissal.

Departments should record on an officer's file the full circum- stances of any disciplinary offence, the action taken, whether an appeal was lodged, its outcome and any subsequent developments. records will be carefully safeguarded and kept confidential. Except for very serious offences where specific warning will be given, no account will be taken of an earlier offence in subsequent disciplinary action after a lapse of 5 years. Any warnings given in accordance with paragraph 4 above which have not been related to subsequent formal disciplinary action, will normally be isregarded after a period of
12 months.
11. No record of any anonymous and unsubstantiated allegation will be kept on the victim's personal file, although the department may keep a seperate record of much allegations in order to regist in tracing the
