I am not sure whether you have seen i'r Stratton's minute of 8 February commenting on Mr Posnett'a mimte of 29 January. I attach a copy for convenience. You will see that i'r Stratton does not share r losnett's view that Mr Russell would be a strong candidate to succeed fr ficiates in Belize, and suggests that Fir mussell should be extended as Governor of the Caymans until May 1980. ihr Stratton wisher to hold a meeting about the Belize/ vayaɛns problem at the beginning of next month and you will no doubt be invited to attend. no for the other possible opening for russell mentioned by Mr Posnett, the deputy governorship of Dermuda will not now have to be filled before April 1980 and we already have r wallace (ex-Governor of the BVI) in mind.

3. as regarda úr strong, you should see the attached extracts from zinutes by fir muff and ir stratton, wo both spoke to him during their visit to the Caribbean. It appears that r Strong is content to remain where he is until he retires. In those circumstances, you might wish to write a rather different letter, referring to his conversations with Mr Stratton and fir Duff and asking him to confirm he is willing to soldier on in Grand Turk.
