The posts of Governor, Belize and Governor, Falkland Islands will be considered at the next meeting of the Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board. Both posts are presently held by DS officers and there is therefore no 'topping up' in payment. As it is possible that a non-DS officer will be selected for one or both of these posts, I should be grateful for your calculations on the basis of
OSAS of the single and married non-gratuitable rates for
both appointments. The equivalent DS grade in both cases is DS3 (Under-Secretary), the salary for which at current rates
is £13,429 + ILW of £524, which will rise to £14,714 + £524 on 1 April. The salaries and allowances approved in the DTS' Estimates are: Belize B$27,324 salary, plus B$4,140 duty allowance, Falklands £4,500 salary, plus £936 duty
allowance.
