MR REX MASTERMAN HUNT
Mr Hunt was born on 29 June 1926 and educated at St Peter's Hall, Oxford, where he read Law. He served in the RAF from 1944-48.
In 1952 he joined HMOCS and was appointed as an Administrative Cadet in Uganda. After service às District Officer and Acting District Commissioner, he became Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources in 1960. From 1962 until his
retirement he served as a District Commissioner.
He joined the Commonwealth Relations Office in 1963 and served subsequently as First Secretary in Kuching, Jesselton and in Brunei. He was First Secretary (Economic) in Ankara from
From 1968-70 and Head of Chancery in Jakarta from 1970-72. 1972-74 he served in the FCO as Assistant Head of Middle East Department. He was appointed to Saigon on promotion to Counsellor. He was evacuated to Singapore in 1975 at the time of the fall of Sargon. Since 1976 he has been in Kuala Lumpur as Counsellor (Commercial) and Deputy High Commissioner.
He is married with one daughter and one son, the youngest of whom is 15.
