MEETING' BETWEEN THE SECRETARY FOR TIE CIVIL SERVICE AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE SHORTHAND-AUDIO TYPIST UNIT OF

THE HONG KONG CHINESE CIVIL SERVANTS ASSOCIATION

The meeting was held at 10.00 a.m. on Thursday, 7th July 1977 in Room 355, Central Government Offices, East Wing Lower Albert Road.

The Chairman welcomed the Staff Side. He further said as agreed in the last meeting, he had invited Mr. Nace, Controller of PIU to attend this meeting. Then, there were some minutes for confirmation of meetings between Mr. J. Linthwaite and the Staff Side on 20.1.1977, and between Mr. Scott, Typists Unit and the Staff Side on 2.5.1977. Those minutes were all agreed by both sides. After those had been signed, the Chairman then suggested to have Mr. Mace, to speak in respect of the questions that they had recorded in their last meeting-

Mrs. M. CHEUNG then welcomed Mr. Mace for attending that meeting that morning and hoped that Mr. Mace would give them a definite answer to their questions. However, before so doing, she would like to know what happened to the minutes of meetings held or the 20.6.1977 and 29.6.1977.

The Chairman said that the Official Side had just received the verbatim records (prepared by the Staff Side) of the two meetings which were found to be useful (he thought that he had given the Staff Side their draft minutes of those two meetings). In any way, the main purpose of those minutes was to summarize the main points of the discussion. draft minutes did that purpose and the Cfficial Side would like to have the Staff Side's comments.on amendments and addition they wished to suggest on the draft minutes which was handed to Staff Side that morning. The Chairman further added that there were no difference between both records, namely, the verbatim minutes and the draft minutes.
