DESCRIPTION
Carries out surface treatment of surfaces by :-
(i)
electro-chemical and chemical processes including deposition of common metals by electrolyses, electro-chemical polishing, galvanizing, etching and anodising; and
(ii) metal spraying.
IV.
TRADE SKILLS
Ability to :-
Correctly use and maintain the tools used in the trade.
2. Correctly select and use of fixtures including jigs, hooks and clamps.
3. Assess plating thicknesses and surface
finish.
4. Perform and carry out electroplating,
anodising, galvanizing and metal spraying processes.
5. Prepare and maintain the correct
composition, concentration and temperature condition of the plating solutions.
6. Recognise faults in treated surfaces,
their causes and take necessary remedial action.
7. Recognise faults in plant or equipment.
8. Observe safety precaution and health
measures.
