Inspects, tests, repairs, calibrates and maintains mechanical/electrical instruments including the making of replacement parts as necessary.

TRADE THEORY
Ability to :-
1. Use and take care of the tools of the
trade including power, hand and machine tools.
2. Use and take care of relevant mechanical,
electrical and electronic measuring instruments, gauges, standards and specially designed fixtures.
3. Calibrate instruments and diagnose
faults systematically and logically.

Inspect, test, repair, calibrate and maintain mechanical/electrical instruments in accordance with standards and specifications and make replacement parts as necessary,
Read and interpret engineering drawings, circuit diagrams and specifications.
6. Carry out all necessary safety precautions
in the work for which he is responsible.
Knowledge of :-
1.
Workshop technology including properties of materials used in instruments, precision measuring instruments and gauges, limits, tolerances and fits, surface finish, common hand and machine tools used in instrument maintenance, and common lubricants,
Engineering science and calculations.
