TECHNOLOGIST
Designs, operates and controls systems of production, storage, and distribution which ensure efficient use of the resources of the enterprise. This includes :-
(1) Choice of site. Layout and
design of plant and services.
(2) Modifications to existing plant and facilities to meet changing requirements.
(3) Provision of management services
such as Operational Research, Facilities Design, Work Study, Quality Assurance, and Cost Control.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Ability to :-
1. Apply original thought and judgement
to the analysis and solution of industrial/production engineering
problems.
2.
Conduct feasibility study on choice of site, layout, design of plan as well as cost and benefit analysis.
3.
Advise and develop production systems including the selection of tools and the tooling up of production lines.
4.
Plan and implement production methods appropriate to resources available.
5. Undertake work study, advise on and
implement necessary changes to achieve more efficient and economic use of material and human resources.
6. Devise method of inspection to control
quality at all phases of manufacture to ensure compliance with standards and
specifications.
