UNITED KINGDOM DRUG LIAISON OFFICER IN THAILÂND: TERMS OF REFERENCE
1. In addition to your duties as Counsellor for Hong Kong Affairs at the British Embassy in Bangkok, you will also undertake duty as the United Kingdom Drug Liaison Officer in accordance with the following charter.

Your duties shall be as follows:
(a) To obtain and forward to the Central
Drugs Intelligence Unit, New Scotland Yard, all information concerning illegal trafficking in narcotics which might affect or be useful to Police Forces in the United Kingdom.
(b)
Through the Central Drugs Intelligence Unit, New Scotland Yard, to act as a reference point for United Kingdom Police Forces in relation to enquiries in Thailand concerning United Kingdom citizens and persons resident or active in the United Kingdom who are involved in narcotics trafficking or abuse.
In performing these duties you will act purely in an intelligence gathering role and shall not engage in any operational activity.
