A plaster statue of a ‘Unicorn' contained 9.302 kilogrammes of prepared opium.
26 On 10th October, 1977, Officers of the Customs and Excise Service received information that an unclaimed suitcase, which had arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok the previous day, contained drugs. As a result 17.6159 kilogrammes of No. 3 heroin were seized from the suitcase. No arrest was made and enquiries are continuing.

On 21st September, 1977, the m.v. 'TAI CHUNG SHAN' arrived from Bangkok. A routine search of the vessel was made by Customs and Excise Officers and from inside a ventilation pipe a string of 10 bundles of No. 3 heroin were seized. Further seizures came from the bilge pipe and from bilge water in the under decking. The total seizure of No. 3 heroin was 3.6253 kilogrammes. No arrest was made.

28 On 22nd September, 1977, the m.v. 'PADMA' arrived from Japan. A routine search of the vessel revealed 5.4396 kilogrammes of cannabis resin hidden in the ventilation shaft of the engine room. No arrest was made.
(CE/110/168/77) 29 On 23rd October, 1977, Chinese male WONng Chi-lo (7806/1807/0525) arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Penang. Customs and Excise Officers discovered 4.4866 kilogrammes of prepared opium concealed inside a special vest and in packs strapped to his legs. WONG was charged with 'Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking' and was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment.

30 On 25th October, 1977, Japanese male Hiroji OkоCHI arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. Inside his false-bottomed suitcase Customs and Excise Officers discovered 0.4738 kilo- gramme of cannabis, OKOCHI was charged with 'Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking' and was subsequently sentenced to a fine of $6,000-HK or 4 months imprison- (CE/109/100/77)

31 On 6th November, 1977, Customs and Excise Officers examined two unclaimed suitcases which had arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. Inside the suitcases 38.043 kilogrammes of No. 3 heroin were found. No arrest was made and enquiries are continuing.
