You will know from McClaron's letter to you of 23 June that some of the documents in the file you so kindly sent to us were shown to fra Barbara Castle and to r David Hallmark, the layer who is trying to find evidence to support Miss Nightingale's claim that she was an unsuspecting dupe of an experienced drug syndicate.
I am now enclosing copies of two further letters from Mrs Castle to the Secretary of State forwarding, Mr Hallmark's analysis of the paprs he was allowed to see, and his observations on these papers.
Mrs Castle has of course been told that he cannot have copies of the documents in question. Dr Owen has however undertaken to sturiy his analysis of them and let Mrs Castle have a full and considered reply. I should be grateful for your comments on the various points Mr Hallmark mkes,
