Enlisted 1948; Commissioned into Royal Artillery 1960: Service in Europe and Far East; Promoted Lt Col 14723 Voluntary retirement 1978.

1972-75 Overall management responsibility for 35 officers, 600 soldiers, 30 civilians of the Commando Regiment RA and their families. Equipment management of some * 10 of vehicles, weapons, computers, optics, clothing. Financial responsibility for ten monetary accounts with o turnover of about £ M 2 per annum.

Operations undertaken: Ulster 1972-75; Cyprus emergency 1974; Cyprus United Nations Force 1975.

Exercises: with RN/Marines in arctic Norway; with ATO in the Mediterranean (Malta, Greece, Turkey)

1957-59 National Service officers at Mons OCS. 1965-67 Army pilots in artillery fire control. 1969-72 Responsible for the initial training of ch young officer entrants into the Royal Artillery. 1975-78 NATO School. Preparing officers of all parks/ NATO nationalities for appointments in the various inter- national headquarters.

1976-78 Agent for J Perry & Co (holiday insurance....) reporting to International Manager. Set up network for tourist medical aid and repatriation in W Austric and E Switzerland
