I suggest that at this stage it would be inadvisable to release copies of the enclosed documents to Mr. Bagier, and that the latter should be informed only that the witness
has been contacted and that an investigation is being conducted. More than this would be unwise in the light of the contradictory statements that have been made.
I shall write to you with further information when the situation is clearer.
