Dear Sir Mumay

13/1.

GBE KCMG KC VO

6 November 1978

Thank you for your letter of 19 October.

I quite understand the position in regard to Pain and I am quite sure that, although he will be disappointed, he will understand the reasons for your decision and will be the first to'. support you in it.

Jim Crane will be glad to come in April after Henry has settled down and would, of course, be delighted to have the company of the Police Adviser should he wish to accompany him.

It is always a great pleasure to us in the Inspectorate to be of help to you and the splendid Royal Hong Kong Police and I hope to convey the strength of these sentiments to Roy Henry when he comes to London in December.
