1. I submit draft replies and a background note to the two Priority Written Questions tabled by Mr Robert Parry MP (Labour Liverpool, Scotland Exchange) for answer on 10 May.
2. Mr Parry takes a close interest in Hong Kong and is normally critical of the Hong Kong Government. He tabled 94 PQs on Hong Kong last year and has so far put down a further 13 this year.
3. The proposed answers are based on information supplied by
Hong Kong.
4. Because of the complexities of Question 5, the proposed answer is longer than the customary 50 words. This has been agreed with the Parliamentary Unit.
