On 28/7/77 I was ASDI in Western Sub. Division. On that day I was

instructed by Div. Supt to investigate death of LIU Ping Hon.

I was

assisted by C.W.18 and other PCs.

Normally death enquiry is handled by sub unit commander.

Each subunit commander and one DEPC is not dealing at one time with one death

In case where CID do not suspect foul play and hand over to UB, it

might normally be a day or two before death enquiry PC gets roing. Cases

normally dealt with in chronological order.

On 29/7/77 I went to rooftop Hong Ming building. No trace of struggle,

visible handprints or fingerprints or suspicious objects like blood. Saw door

with broken lock.

We appealed for witnesses through press

and radio.

me on morning of 30/7. Apart from telling me about deceaseds character they said they had found some handprints. I went to inspect. One full

handprint brown looks like mud. Another half hand print very near

the full sized one

As you come out of door, if you turn right, prints

were 20-25 feet away from door on wall which can be seen in photo. They

were about 41⁄2 to 5' from ground.

On 29/7 when I inspected the roof, the prints were not there.

said an anonymous telephone call had been received at deceased's home.

passed report to CID for further investigation. Nothing came of it.

also suggested deceased might have been approached re corruption.This

was passed to ICAC for investigation. Nothing came to light.

I acquired a number of documents re deceased. None could be described as a

sucide note. None suggested violence.
