I did not check roof door for fingerprints. At building I
took a statement from a watchman, at about 0830.
As a result of my enquiries, I decided no suspicion. I
handed over to Uniform Branch same day.

I was
I was attached to C.I.D. of Western Police Station.
first C.I.D. officer on scene. Stayed on scene until sometime after 0900.
I then handed case over to Uniform Branch at after 1000, after I had
returned to Western C.I.D. involved from 0730 to time I handed over to
Uniform Branch. Only investigation by C.I.D. at that time was 0730 to
0900. No other CID officer involved that morning. "hat I have said is
sum total of CID investigation prior to case being handed over to Uniform
Branch about 11⁄2 hours. No expertise in fingerprinting. Never dusted

any part of roof for finger prints - not door to roof. No fingerprint
examination.
Door was shut but not locked. Lock not working.
Photo G in C5 shows close up of door. Side of door bulges
out a little. I examined to see if forced nothing could be detected.

I paid attention to every part of rooftop and door. I found
nothing suspicious. Door not bolted at time.
Photo E shows painted iron railing on wall. Gripping would
leave marks on surface.

I stayed on roof about 10 odd minutes. I also questioned
the residents.

on duty that morning. I can't recall if I interviewed him at
Hong Ming Building. Statement was taken on Pol. 154.

Watchman was cooperative

He told me had gone to the toilet. I can't
say whether he went to toilet or not.
Position whence I took photo C5A is more or less in line
with where body found.
Court: After I questioned watchman I wrote it down when I returned I
wrote again.
