Dear Sirs,
Re:
The Remaining Portion of Lot No.577/3 in New Kowloon Survey District No.1 (No.141-145 Lai Chi Yuen)
We act for Oriental Enterprises Company Ltd. the registered owner of the above-captioned land and refer to the circular letter issued by Kowloon City City District Office dated 26th November 1977 by which our client was informed that the Government intends to requisition at least a portion of the captioned property in accordance with the proposed development/extension of Junction Road. We are instructed that according to our client's estimate with reference to the Government's proposed plans, an.area of more than 1,500 sq.ft. will have to be surrendered by our client.
We are instructed that the captioned land has an area of about 4,500 sq.ft. and the same has been utilised by our client for the past 20 years as a plant for the manufacture of machineries and various mechanical equipment used in textile industries, and such manufac- turing process, in turn, involves the using of heavy machin- eries and equipment. As you will no doubt appreciate, if our client has to vacate from its present premises, our client's choice for a new site to carry on its business will be greatly restricted in that the ordinary factory buildings will not be able to bear the weight of the machinery in question.
We are therefore instructed to object to the proposed development plans for Junction Road in so far as our client's land is affected; alternatively we are instructed p put forward the following proposals for compensation for
C.L. & S.O., PWD. our consideration :-
