Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Audit (Amendment) Ordin- Short title. ance 1978.
2. Section 8(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting Amendment of ", on behalf of the Governor,".

Section 12 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in subsection (1)(b) by inserting after "submit to the Governor"
the following—
"as President of the Legislative Council";
(b) by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following-
"(2) Within the period of three months, or such longer period as the Governor may determine, after the receipt of the report and certified statements from the Director under subsection (1), a copy of the report and certified statements, together with a copy of the report of the Public Accounts Committee of the Legislative Council, shall-
(a) be laid before the Legislative Council; and (b) be submitted to the Secretary of State.";
(c) in subsection (3)(a) by inserting after "Governor" the following-
"as President of the Legislative Council".

Section 13 of the principal Ordinance is amended- (a) by renumbering it as subsection (1) thereof; (b) by inserting after "Governor" the following-
"as President of the Legislative Council"; and
(c) by adding the following new subsection-
"(2) Any such report shall be dealt with in accordance with subsection (2) of section 12 as if it were a report submitted under subsection (1) of that section.".
