(a) No decision need be made at present as regards the ultimate use of that part of the site hatched yellow and green between the proposed access road and Kennedy Road.. It would be most unwise to make irrevocable decisions now. Existing buildings in good repair and suitable for temporary community use should not, for the present, be demolished.

(b) No Government Offices should be built within

the area as proposed in "Plan A", "Plan B" and "Plan C", and in this regard Members concur with the views on this expressed by the Chairman of the Urban Council in his statement mentioned above and consider that there is enough land from Queensway to New Murray Building for Government Offices.

(c)

As revenue will be needed to pay recurrent Defence Costs, this area should be made available in the future (say three to five years' time) for high class private residential development, possibly on existing formed platforms.

(a) ̈ A majority of Members are of the opinion that no

decision should be made now as to the future of Flagstaff House, having regard to the intention to use it as a temporary residence for HE the Governor.

(e) The Urban Council should be invited to manage the

grounds temporarily on behalf of the Government as Government's agent and at Government's cost: if this offer is declined, the Director of Agri- culture & Fisheries should manage them.

(f) Contrary to the Szeto Committee's proposal, Wavell

House, Rawlinson House and Block E should not be retained, except temporarily.

(g) The north-eastern part of Victoria Barracks should

be made available for private high-quality commercial/ residential development, and the south-eastern part for high-quality residential development. This should be made the subject of further detailed planning.

Members agreed to the siting of the new Supreme Court.

(i) The access road should run between Cotton Tree Drive
