(Note 5)
Note 1:
It is estimated that as of 31st March 1978, there is an outstanding commitment of 30 million square feet of letter B. It is assumed that the rate of build up of this commitment, on the basis of 10 million square feet of agricultural land to be resumed annually and 50% of exchange options taken up under the proposed package (Paragraph 5.1.2), would be 2.5 million square feet per annum.
Note 2: It is assumed that 60% of the land produced for disposal is residential land and that 40% is
industrial land.
Note 3 It is assumed that 75% of the residential land available for disposal is used for letters
A/B exchange and that 40% of the industrial land available for disposal is used for the same purpose.
Note 4
As 2.5 square feet of letter B commitment can be disposed of by the availability of 1 square foot of land for exchange, the figures in this row are arrived at by multiplying the corresponding figures in the third row by 2.5.
Note 5 The figures in the fifth row are the differences between the figures in the first and
fourth rovs.
*
No outstanding letters A/B commitments in these years as there will be more than enough land to meet letters A/B commitments.
