Entrents from China and Macao
The statistical returns for July 1978 are attached.
The daily average figures for legal immigration from China were:-
184, including CPG passport holders
183, excluding CPG passport holders with visas for
final destination.
This is a slight increase on the June figures of 181 and 180.
3.
505 illegal immigrants from China were arrested during the month, compared with 433 in June. This is the highest arrest figure since repatriation commenced on 30 November 1974.
60 illegal immigrants from Macao were arrested during the month, the highest figure for some time.
