The daily average figures for legal immigration from China were:-
274, including CPG passport holders
257, excluding CPG passport holders with visas for
final destination.
This is a sharp increase on the September figures of 234 and 222.

1,481 illegal immigrants from China were arrested during the month, compared with 987 in September. This is the highest arrest figure since repatriation commenced on 30 November 1974.
