At the
Precious Blood Order and personal advisor of Sister Wu.
meeting, Sister Leung refused to repeat what she had admitted on
April 5, during the interview with Chan and Fan. Furthermore,
Sister Wu stressed that Sister Leung was attending the meeting
in the capacity of the school supervisor, not the principal, and
therefore she would not answer any questions She also added that
she and all the Managers of the Committee only came to the meeting'
to listen and were not prepared to answer any questions or give
their opinions. The teachers acquiesced and their representatives
started pointing out the financial irregularities. They stated
that the Precious Blood Order should be held fully responsible
for them since the money obtained had all been channelled into the
account of the Order. They went on to say the Order's attitude
of not answering questions and not giving comments could not help
solve the problem. The meeting lasted 3 hours. llowever, the
Mother Superior and her coterie all remained silent.
It must be noted that on the day before this meeting,
i.e. April 10, Sister Leung and a Sister Chau Yiu-ha of the
Precious Blood Order had attempted to tamper with the account books
of the school in the presence of Miss Kwok, the School's Bookkeeper.
It was only under Miss Kwok's strong opposition that the two
Sisters finally conceded not to tamper with the books.
4. The Meeting on April 14 and the letter from the Management
Committee on April 15
On April 14, the teachers and the school authority had
a short meeting at the staff room of the school. Sister Wu took
the opportunity to inform the teachers that Sister Leung was no
longer Principal and Supervisor. She had resigned from all posts
connected with the school and that the school Management Committee
would be reshuffled. The school authority in addition had discovered
discrepancies in the school accounts over the past 4 years and had
passed the case to the Education Department for further investi-
gations. The teachers in turn made three demands at the meeting:
1. to guarantee that the malpractices pointed out would not occur
