Part I: A New School
Preliminary Stage Before the Opening of the School
Precious Blood Golden Jubilee Secondary School was a
Government Aided Catholic girls' school established in 1973 to
celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Order of Precious Blood Sisters.
Preparatory task started as early as 10 months before the opening of
the school. Some 17 young prople who didn't know much about each
other were invited by Sister Leung Kit Fun, the principal-to-be,
to take part in the preparatory work. Some of them were experienced
teachers while others were fresh graduates from Teachers' Training
Colleges or the two universities. But they all had one thing in
common
they had a strong concern over education and a great
interest in teaching, and above all, they were very dedicated.

The Education Policy
Countless meetings were held during the preliminary stage
to discuss the purposes of education, the education policy of the
new school and the ways the students were to be educated. Sister
Leung intended the school to be a Chinese Middle School with Chinese
Language as the teaching medium and as far as the education policy
was concerned, it was finally agreed that:
1. The students would be equipped with good knowledge, and the
ability to hold opinion and do original thinking.
2. The students would be girls of integrity. They should be
inflinching in face of injustice and have the 'moral character
of a Chinese'.
3. The students would learn to have a concern for other people,
society and the world around them.
4. They would be encouraged to make out-spoken comments and admit
their own mistakes.
