Dear My Finn,
We the undersigned are two teachers from the Golden Jubilee Secondary School in Hong Kong where there has been a protracted struggle since early last year originating in our disclosure of grave financial irregularities at the School. The course of events is described in the brief summary attached herein and they have led to the dismissal of ourselves and fourteen colleagues and the clsoure of the School.
We have come to London to make the true facts of the case known because we have exhausted the meagre channels available to us in Hong Kong. Despite the overwhelming support of our students and parents, the public at large and most sections of the press, in Hong Kong we have met only with indifference, insult and a cover-up by the authorities. Our aims are to have the embezzlement and fraud fully and impartially investigated, these results published and for the re-opening of our
· School. In short, we have come to London to seek justice.
We are most anxious to arrange a meeting with you so that you would be able to consult our fuller documentation (including press clippings) and ask us any questions that you might have. We are free of engagements for virtually all of the coming week (July 3rd -7th) and would be most happy if you could arrange an appointment at the House of Commons (or anywhere else) by writing to the above London address or by telephoning the above number.
We have..not travelled 10,000 miles to seek anything for ourselves or to promote any party political interest. The issue is one of educational principle and natural justice. We cannot believe that the British Parliament and the British public will allow the present injustice to continue when they know the true facts of the case.
Yours faithfully,
Miss FAN May-yung Mr. WAI Wing-kwong
