principal, Miss Lo, informed me of my duty. Miss Lo had been in the teachers' room since 2.25 am., five minutes before the examination time. Having referred to the invigilation time table in the general office and confirmed of the duty I had overlooked due to the indistinct printing, I went up to M.4D fifteen minutes late and the school principal herself was w waiting for me.

In that afternoon, I went with a colleague to the deputy principal, Mr. To, who was responsible for distributing the question papers to the teachers on duty, with a view to obtaining a better realization of the incident which occurred in the morning, Mr. To admitted that he met me in the general office before 8.15 am. in the morning. He said that ho loft the general office at 8.20am. to be present at the morning assembly and then to give lesson to one of the Form 5 classes. He said that before he left, he had already reminded an office staff member to hand me the examination papers. The principal was there, too. He claimed that he did not know what happened. afterwards. On hearing that, I auggested to Mr. To to clarify the situation to the principal at onom. But Mr. To reassurod me that it was not necessary since it was a "very minor mis- understanding",

When Mr. To learnt of the cous quence of the "minor
misunderstanding", he expressed his auspathy for me and said that he would not have made such on accusation if he had been the
principal because this incident was really & "very minor mis- understanding". He also added that he had already explained the incident to the principal on 16th Jan., 1978.
I say that it was a trap because:
1. I arrived at school on 16th. Jan., 1978 more than fifteen
minutes before the examination time.
2. The principal did notice my presence before 8.15 am, as wo
met face to face in the narrow corridor between the teachers'
room and the general office when she
at came out fron the lavatory. Moreov
hecked the Teachers
Attendance Sheet.
