Dear Sir,

We would be very grateful if you could draw the contents of this letter to the attention of the members of the Management Committee.

Ever since a series of unfortunate incidents occurred in the school during the last academic year, a great deal of unfavourable press comment and reporting on the school has been published. Cur attention has been drawn to a number of items in the Chinese press, which have appeared so prominently that we feel sure most members of the Management Committee have noticed them. These items are, in general, either totally false or based on a misrepresentation of events. During the last few weeks, the school has figured once more in the press, again in a context far from favourable.

The typical article carried by the newspapers has been extremely unflattering. The readers are invited to conclude that the Management Committee has failed to carry out its lawful duties in ensuring the school is properly run; that the present Trincipal has failed to carry out her responsibilities; that the teachers are not caring properly for the education and wellbeing of the students; and that the pupils are of an unruling disposition. All these suggestions and implications are, as the Management Committee knows, totally false. In particular, the Principal and the rest of the teaching staff are both qualified and devoted to the goal of providing the students in their care with the best academic and moral instruction.

We should like to suggest that the Management Committee brings the activities of the press to the attention of the school's legal advisers with a view to preventing any further unfavourable publicity, which can only harm all those connected with school. We should be only too glad to assist in any way in putting an end to the erroneous and defamatory items which various

Dear Mr. Wong,

I refer to your letter to me dated 20th March, 1978

The procedure leading to the formation of a pupila! association is governed by the Education Regulations, before the school is prepared to apply to the Education Department for the formation of such an association, I consider it proper that fees already collected from the students should be returned to the students. The collection of fees should be done after the association has been formed and pot before,

Will you kindly therefore hand back the money to tho students who gave it to you for redistribution without. further delay.

Youre pruly,

Arcaine Turcotte
