8.
Tenders for major repairs will not normally be accepted by the
Education Department after 1st December of each year. In cases however
where such a tender is accepted after 1st December, it will be only on the understanding that the repairs will be completed before 1st February
and receipted bills for payment of grant submitted before 1st March.

Schools will be advised which tender is approved for grant purposes.
Supervisors shall inform the Education Department as soon as the work is
completed in order that the Public Works Department may inspect the work.
10. (a) Payment of grant for major repairs costing less than 20,000 will
not be made unless the satisfactory completion of the work has been
certified by the supervisor of the school and the Public Works
Department. The contractor's bills should not be paid by the school
until the Public Works Department has certified that the work has been satisfactorily completed. The supervisor of the school should
then forward the contractor's receipted bills to the Education
Department.
(b) Interim payment of grant for major repairs costing $20,000 or more,
may be requested after the agreed contribution of the school towards the cost has been fully expended. Requests for payment must be supported by properly receipted bills indicating that the school's
contribution has been paid, and by an architect's certificate in
respect of work completed. When the work has been wholly completed,
the school shall submit an architect's certificate that the work has
been satisfactorily completed. The Director will then request the
Public Works Department to inspect the work before making final
payment.
Application for a Revote of Non-Recurrent Grants Approved
11.
Grants approved during the current financial year but not claimed in
accordance with the procedure described in this Appendix will lapse after the
end of that financial year. Should a school wish to make use of an unexpended grant in the following year, an application for revote must be submitted for consideration on or before 15th September of the current financial year,
giving grounds in support of such application.
