Further to my letter to you of 5th October,

I have now heard about the problems concerning refugees on board the UK registered vessel "WELL PARK". Should it be necessary for assistance to be given in arranging the cnvard travel of these refugees from Taivan, I should be most grateful for your help and cooperation. Should the arrangements made by the Government of the United Kingdom require soncone from your office to visit Taivan, I hope that the costs would be refunded by the UNC R. I am seeking clarification on this point from the UK Mission in Geneva by letter.

As I understand the position at present, there is no question of these refugces being processed in Hong Kong for final resettlement. If they should come to liong Kong, I think this would only be at most for a rapid transit at Kai Tak Airport.

May I again express our thanks for the help you have given us over problems concerning small-boat refugees from Vietnam.
