Iam not sure who in the Mission has been handling questions concerning refugees from vietnam, I should be grateful if you would pass this letter to the right person, Feanwhile, it is pleasant to have an opportunity to send you greetings from Hong Kong.
2.
with reference to recent correspondence concerning the refugees picked up by the "AVON FOREST" (see your telno. 700 to FC 9 - not to washington) and the current problens concerning those rescued by the "WELL PARK" (your telno. 782 to PC 0 and FC O telno. 298 to you), I have been asked by janes Stewart (who happens to be the brother of Stewart ranger) to wzite formally requesting I CM's assistance in making travel arrangements for the "AVON PO81 * refugees. To save time I have also written asking him to help, if necessary, with the "WELL PANK" refugees. I enclose copies of my letters.
3.
Grateful if you would check the question of costs for any ICEM help for the "WELL PARK" case, It might also be as well to double check that UNHCR will pick up the bills for travel by members of ICE M as well as for the refugees.
4.
I should also be grateful if you would tell the I CEM Headquarters how grateful we are for Stevart's help. He and his staff have been doing an excellent job (for your own information, they are far better organised and one might even say trust worthy than some of the UNHCR people). If you feel there is anything more we should do to show our appreciation here please let us know.
