1. I am writing further to Hugh Davies' letter 243/1 of 5 June to enclose a copy of a Note we have received from the MFA, in reply to our Note of 25 May in which we drew their attention to the reported actions of the SS Tong Sing's Captain.
2. As you will see, the IFA have done no more than acknowledge our Note. To round off the episode I have checked 'with the MFA official concerned, who confirmed that our Note has been copied within the Singapore Government to Departments concerned, 'including the Director of Marinę. Çur concern about the Tong Sing's action has, therefore, been effectively lodged with the authorities here.
