ANNEX II
Criteria for Selection under the US LRP Programme
(1) Category I.
Close relatives of US citizens, lawful permanent residents, or persons in the U3 as refugees. Close relatives are defined as spouse, parent, son, daughter, grandparent, or unmarried sidling or grandchild. The principal relative must have entered the US before juze 14, 1978.
(ii) Category 11
Former US Government employees who held supervisory or otherwise meaningful positions for at least one year subsequent to January 1, 1962, or vorkers such as manitors, deivezs, gardeners, and guards if they were so employed for at least five years subsequent to January 1, 1962.
(iii) Category III
Kefugoes not accepted by a third country, who because of a previous close association vită the US were persecuted by or are in fear of being persecuted by the Communist Regime.
(iv) Category IV
Refugees not accepted by a third country, not vithin categories 1, 11 or III, who because of obviously compelling reasons should be granted parole or humanitarian grounds.
Any Category 1 case will receive preference over any Category II, III or IV case, and any Category ÏÏ case will receive preference over any Category III or IV case, and so or.
