1. Priorities accorded to the proposals in the Green Paper

The proposed scheme covers four types of benefits: sickness insurance,

life insurance, retirement benefits and housing loan facilities.

(a) Sickness insurance

Of the employers interviewed, 74% rated sickness insurance

protection as top priority. (page 26)

should pay the full contributions themselves.

Benefits currently provided

(a) Sickness benefits

About one-third of the employers provided additional sickness

benefits on top of those required by the Employment Ordinance.
